BELGRADE- THE GATEWAY TO THE BALKANS

Belgrade is the capital of Serbia, also known as the Gateway to the Balkans is surrounded on three sides by Danube and Sava Rivers. This makes it the only capital situated on two international rivers.
Even if it is not on most travelers' bucket lists, Serbia is the perfect place that combines cultures with history, nightlife, and gastronomy.

Since the NATO bombing in 1999, Serbia is still trying to recover from the war. For the event to not be forgotten, the NATO-bombed buildings are still visible in Belgrade.

I had the chance to visit the city in August and below you can find the picture gallery of the trip for the main highlights.

Adding to those, you can always arrange a Danube river cruise or the panoramic view of the city at night from Kalemegdan Hill.

Here are some tips:

- the perfect place for shopping: Knez Mihailova Street

- try local products: chocolate, biscuits, bread, cake (you can also find them in supermarkets)

-  do not miss the floating nightclubs such as Freestyler, H2O, and Sound.

- explore the outdoor museums: Military History Museum, Ethnographic Museum.

- visit Nicola Tesla Museum and get acquainted with his works
